Every product page lists what that product contains. If you're unsure, we recommend testing a small amount of the product on, for example, your forearm before use.

Because our Beard Butter Crème is a soft cream, the surface can sometimes look disturbed if the jar has been dropped, knocked, or handled roughly during packing or transport. This doesn't affect how the cream works. See the video below for an example.

pH measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is, on a scale from 0 to 14. Hair and skin have a natural pH of around 4.5–5.5, which helps protect against dryness and irritation. Gentlemen of Sweden's products are formulated with this in mind, to support the natural balance of your skin and hair. Products with a slightly lower pH (more acidic) help close the hair's cuticle layer for a smoother feel, while products with a slightly higher pH open the cuticle layer, which helps with styling and cleansing. Using products with the right pH minimizes the risk of irritation and helps maintain a healthy scalp, skin and hair.

Gentlemen of Sweden's Firm Hold Paste, Smooth Grooming Tonic and Hair & Beard Shampoo contain a natural UV protection from Helianthus Annuus Seed Extract — the technical term for sunflower seed extract. The extract both protects against and helps repair UV damage.

Gentlemen of Sweden's vegan products don't contain any animal ingredients or by-products. They're also never tested on animals.

The product is made without using substances derived from animals, such as milk, honey, eggs, lanolin, beeswax or other ingredients of animal origin.

A product being natural means it contains few or no synthetic ingredients. Gentlemen of Sweden tries to use as few non-natural ingredients as possible, and on every product you can see how large a share of the content is natural.

An ingredient being synthetic doesn't mean it's bad, harmful or dangerous — it simply means it isn't taken directly from nature.

Our products have a shelf life of at least 12 months after opening, provided the packaging isn't left open.

Under the EU Cosmetics Regulation (1223/2009), safety labelling is only required if there are specific hazards or risks under normal use or foreseeable misuse. We've therefore chosen not to print on our packaging that it's unsuitable to drink our shampoo or use Beard Butter Crème instead of butter when cooking.

Since beeswax isn't vegan, a vegan alternative has been developed that gives a similar effect to beeswax. In Gentlemen of Sweden's products specifically, the vegan alternative consists of the following 4 ingredients:

• Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil
• Stearyl Stearate
• Stearic Acid

Yes, we comply with the new GPSR framework.

GPSR is an EU regulation that ensures all products sold within the EU, both online and offline, meet high safety standards. It tightens the rules on traceability, risk management and liability, particularly for products sold through digital platforms.

For you as a customer, this means you can easily see on our products that they really are produced by Gentlemen of Sweden AB. We also mark every product with a batch number so we can trace it — it starts with SE- and is printed in black text on the lower part of our products. We register and can trace B2B purchases for 10 years and consumer purchases for 3 years, in case a recall is ever needed. For more information about how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Our products also comply with the Cosmetics Regulation (EU) No 1223/2009 and are registered in the European CPNP (Cosmetic Product Notification Portal) and the Swedish Medical Products Agency's database.
